DEEP!! Snow

I'm a little behind in my blog entries....I was in Ottawa during the week of the 10th of March. The snow in the Nations capital is unbelievable! I'm 6 feet tall and the snow banks where over my head. Streets that where apparently 2 lanes had been reduced to a single lane, if that! I was staying with a dear friend and I had parked in her neighbours driveway. Much to my surprise, when I stepped up onto the porch I looked over to where my van was parked and I couldn't see it for the snow bank on the side of the driveway. I can't remember ever seeing snow like that.

Pear Progress, week 6 of Course
Well, I have been working quite a bit on my "Pear" piece. I like the colours and the design although I think that I have used too much variety on the stitches and the shades of colours used. I find it hard, when my stitch repetoire is relatively small and as a result I am trying lots of new stitches with some success. I guess that is why we do these workshops to try and learn new things that we can apply now and later. I am one of those people that likes to use and enjoy all of my pieces so when I use new stitches and techniques I sometimes feel that I overdo it. Anyway I do like the piece and I will use the piece maybe as part of a collage.

First post
I have just completed an online fbreart class through joggles.com with Sharon Boggon. Many of the class participants had blogs and I found it to be a great way to share pieces that I am working on and view other artists work. It has been a fun and great learning expience.
I am working on this piece for the "sumptuous surfaces" class on Joggles.com. The class is being taught by Sharon Bogon. Creating the texture on the design has been fun and I am please with the results so far. The course has been fun. The online community is a great place to meet like minded artists working on their skills and improving throught education.
