Pear Progress, week 6 of Course

Well, I have been working quite a bit on my "Pear" piece. I like the colours and the design although I think that I have used too much variety on the stitches and the shades of colours used. I find it hard, when my stitch repetoire is relatively small and as a result I am trying lots of new stitches with some success. I guess that is why we do these workshops to try and learn new things that we can apply now and later. I am one of those people that likes to use and enjoy all of my pieces so when I use new stitches and techniques I sometimes feel that I overdo it. Anyway I do like the piece and I will use the piece maybe as part of a collage.

Hello Ann - Im glad you started a blog. I think your pear looks lovely - i love the colours together. I worry about using too many stitches on the one piece as well, but this doesnt look like too many stitches to me. looking forward to following your progress on this and you other work.

Thanks for the positive comments Paula. I have really enjoyed Sharon's course. I've learned a lot and it has been great meeting new people!!

It looks like the right amount of stitches to me. In fact, your pear looks good enough to eat. Please be sure and post a picture of whatever you use the piece for. We'd love to see where it lands.

Hi Ann, I really like your pear - especially the use of the buttons and beading on the leaf!
